Jewel Head
Jewel Head is a Plains Cree artist located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She is self-taught and uses a variety of mediums such as paint, hide, shell, beads, and fabric to express herself. Jewel takes inspiration from the world around her and all of her relations within it. She uses art as a way to connect with others, the land, and with her culture.
Jewel is a member of James Smith Cree Nation, Peter Chapman Band. She is currently a student at the University of Saskatchewan where she is taking Health Studies. Jewel is also an interpretive guide at Wanuskewin Heritage Park. She learns about the traditional ways of living through her many relations. She hopes to share her skills, knowledge, and traditional teachings with as many people as she can.
