Graycen Thomas

Graycen Thomas is a 20 year old Plains Cree woman from Ahtahkakoop First Nations. She is a full time Interpretive Guide, Artist, and old style fancy dancer here at Wanuskewin. Graycen has been dancing for 14 years, she first started dancing jingle dress style, but now she dances Old style fancy. Dancing has always been her way of healing, and dancing is her peace.

Graduated in 2023, Graycen is a full-time student going into her third year of University. When she finishes her degree, she hopes to go back to her home community or other surrounding communities to help begin their healing journey by introducing the teachings of Indigenous culture and land-based learning.

Graycen aspires to reach out, connect, and spread awareness out to many communities, in a way that dancing and participating in ceremonies has allowed her to heal from past trauma.
