NEWS RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 31st, 2020
Wanuskewin will re-open to the public on Saturday, September 5, 2020 for the Labour Day Long Weekend.
The park is on the tail end of a major $40 Million Dollar renewal project, and although the entire project is not yet complete, we will be opening our beautifully renovated Art Galleries, Gift Shop, Restaurant, Trail System , and of course our Bison Viewing Platform.
Wanuskewin is taking COVID 19 preventative measures very seriously and as such, the park is now a “MASK MANDATORY” facility. All patrons and staff will be wearing masks unless they are outside on the trails or in the plaza.
In addition, Wanuskewin will be offering immunocompromised tour day options for guests on Mondays and Tuesdays. Guests will be able to pre book these tour times on our website in the coming weeks.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the long weekend we will be open to 11am – 4pm. We will be offering socially distanced guided tours 11:15am (Trail Walk), 1:00pm (Bison Tour), 2:00pm (Traditional Dance performance). Guests are welcome to participate in tours or are welcome to walk the trails on their own if they prefer.
After the long weekend Wanuskewin will be switching to our regular schedule of Wednesday – Sunday 9am – 4:30pm.
