Full job description

The Tour Coordinator is accountable to ensure that all tour booking requests and check-ins are responded to and processed in an accurate, detail oriented, and timely manner.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Ensures a welcoming and professional environment for all Wanuskewin clients with a focus on service excellence.

· Accurately schedules in and tracks all tour booking details, and communicates this to staff and clients in a timely manner.

· Actively promotes Wanuskewin as a whole by ensuring all tour options, event information, and additional service options available are offered to maximize the client experience.

· Provides support around all client service needs from point of booking to presence on site.

· Works closely with Coordinator, Visitor Services for all details on tour offerings, packages, staff availability, booking goals, and updates.

· Ensures all contracts with clients are signed, and accurate in booking details.

· Ensures all bookings are invoiced out, and sent to clients ahead of booking dates for payment.

· Responsible for creating regular reports, and assisting statistical record keeping and reporting.

· Demonstrates a commitment to safety in the workplace, including in one’s own work, that of the team and that of the entire organization.

· Complies with federal and provincial laws, regulations, policies and legislation, as well as Wanuskewin’s policies and procedure manual.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Degree in Indigenous Studies, Education, Hospitality, Tourism, Archaeology, Anthropology, Museum Studies, or related area.

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a booking coordinator position.(hotels, tours, events)

· A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

· Extensive knowledge of Northern Plains Indigenous cultures.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills & proficient in Microsoft Office

· Experience working in fast paced environments with tight timelines.

· Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

· Ability to work on site and remotely.

· Ability to work with the public and demonstrate a client focus.

· A valid driver’s license along with an acceptable driver’s abstract is an asset.

A satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector check as well as reliable transportation are required prior to commencing employment. Wanuskewin has a priority to hire Indigenous employees; please note in cover letter if you so choose.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $53,152.00-$59,937.00 per year
