Position Summary: Reporting to the Director, Hospitality, The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Food and Beverage operations at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, ensuring high-quality service, exceptional guest experiences, and financial success.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily food and beverage operations for both the restaurant and event spaces.
- Understand and utilize Banquet Event Orders (BEO), room set up check sheets, and closing check sheets to execute room set ups and food service to meeting rooms
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional food and beverage services during events, meetings, banquets, and restaurant dining. Includes efficient servicing of rooms, elevated service standards, quality of food taste and presentation.
- Supervise and manage a team including banquet servers. Including scheduling, recruitment, hiring, and onboarding, performance evaluations, offering coaching to ensure high performance of food and beverage staff.
- Ensure all staff are trained in troubleshooting of audio visual and other equipment
- Implement and monitor operational processes and procedures to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Participate in and manage annual budgets and forecasting for food and beverage operations, controlling costs and maximizing profitability by actively seeking out cost saving opportunities.
- Track inventory, manage ordering and supply levels, and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Analyze financial performance, identify opportunities to optimize pricing, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop creative and diverse menus for both ongoing and special events.
- Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service, addressing any guest concerns or issues promptly.
- Work closely with event coordinators to understand client needs and ensure the food and beverage offerings align with event themes and expectations.
- Meet with guests and ensure that the customer experience is exceptional.
- Monitor guest feedback and ensure the implementation of improvements to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with regulations related to food safety and health standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety protocols and enforce adherence across the team.

Qualifications:
- A minimum five years of relevant experience in hospitality service
- A suitable combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and acceptable driver’s abstract,
- Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure that operations run efficiently
- Knowledge of restaurant and catering methodology and practices.
- Skilled in food and beverage operational business acumen.
- Knowledge of Indigenous plains culture.
- Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Suite
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
