Position Summary: This position is accountable for ensuring a clean, safe and healthy facility and grounds for visitors and staff, and contributing to preventative and light maintenance for the building, grounds and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for all Wanuskewin patrons and staff by consistently completing daily, weekly and monthly routine procedures.
- Ensure each room in the facility is adequately stocked with necessary custodial inventory and advise management of supply needs in advance ensuring inventory is kept at reasonable levels.
- Use facility equipment in a safe, responsible and proper manner and ensure excellence in the stewardship of all resources.
- Participate in safety meetings and the development of safety policies, notify management of any safety concerns or hazards, ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct light maintenance duties to building and equipment to ensure longevity.
- Perform outdoor maintenance duties as assigned, including snow and garbage removal.
- Provide notification to management of any potential equipment/asset breakdowns.
- Collaborates across the organization to ensure quality client oriented services are provided that meet the overall organizational direction.
- Works in a safe manner, following safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years experience in this field.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team.
- Certificates in WHMIS, First Aid/CPR would be considered assets.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- A suitable combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from on-site work location.
- Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and present a satisfactory drivers abstract.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically capable of completing duties typical of custodial work and light maintenance, which include walking and standing for long periods of time, bending, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, using a ladder, and other physical acts.
Additional Requirements:
- A satisfactory criminal record check is required as a condition of employment.
