Wanuskewin draws from traditional and contemporary artistic styles to curate a space that is inclusive. While the galleries feature art work from Northern Plains Indigenous artists, exploring diverse works is an important way to encompass past, present, and future artistic cultural interpretations.
As the only Indigenous-led and curated gallery in Saskatoon, Wanuskewin Galleries highlights work inspired by the blending together of art and science. The Galleries commits to an inclusive and decolonial approach, one that supports community, emerging and established Indigenous artistry, and one that endeavors to innovate cultural interpretations that both preserve and create anew.
The Olivia & Greg Yuel Artist-in-Residence Program creates opportunities for established and emerging artists to connect with the land, interact with the community, and network among peers. This program invites artists who specialize in both traditional and contemporary mediums. We are proud to work with local, national, and international artists.
