Building our Restoration Community

Come join fellow ecological restoration enthusiasts and practitioners in an interactive one-day workshop featuring a prescribed fire demonstration and tour of on-going restoration efforts at the NE Swale. Meet others engaged or interested in restoration to share challenges, successes and build our local restoration community.

Note: Transportation is NOT included.

Schedule

9:30 a.m. – Wanuskewin opens

10:00 a.m. – Wanuskewin

  • Check out the prescribed fire trailer and see the effects of fall and spring prescribed fires

12:00 p.m. – Lunch

  • Enjoy a lunch catered by the Wanuskewin restaurant

1:00 p.m. – Restoration Practitioner Mixer

  • Meet other restoration practitioners, share challenges, successes and build our local restoration community

2:00 p.m. – Tour at the NE Swale

  • Explore techniques for prairie restoration including invasive species management, targeted conservation grazing, prescribed fire, trail development and storm water management systems

3:30 p.m. – End of workshop

5:00 p.m. – Wanuskewin closes including Visitor Centre, Trails, and Playground
