Chris Chipak | Artist-in-Residence
Wapikihew (wah-pi-kih-hue), White Eagle, is an Indigenous artist from the Red Pheasant Cree Nation. Throughout his art journey and teaching career, storytelling has always been a self-proclaimed gift that allows him to create visuals and draw connections to others’ experiences. Chris graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of education and teaches in Saskatoon, SK. Over these last couple of years, Chris has been known for collaborating with the likes of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, NBA Canada, the University of Saskatchewan, Crave TV, and the Saskatoon Blades. Beyond his teaching career, Chris is now dedicating more time to his art; excited to have the opportunity to explore new work that expresses his voice and showcases his storytelling.
Chris will be in the Artist-in-Residence Studio January 12th – February 6th.
Wanuskewin Artist in Residence Chris Chipak will lead a hands-on painting workshop, exploring Cree creation stories.

Workshops will take place Saturday January 24th and Sunday February 1st, beginning at 12PM at Wanuskewin Heritage Park.
These workshops are geared toward youth but all are welcome to attend!
Workshops are free with admission to the park.
