Wanuskewin Galleries presents "Coming Back", created by Artist-in-Residence Jerry Whitehead
For artist Jerry Whitehead, taking part in the Olivia and Greg Yuel Artist-in-Residence Program felt like a homecoming. Coming Back captures the essence of full-circle moments in his life – returning to Wanuskewin after many years, a revival of early artistic styles, and a feeling of deep spiritual connection with the return of the Bison to the land. These powerful themes are the forces behind Coming Back, a vibrant celebration of Plains Cree culture that sets Whitehead’s iconic powwow dancers in motion.
Organized as part of the Olivia and Greg Yuel Artist-in-Residence Program.
